Namespace Expiration
Namespaces belonging to free users expire one month after creation. Upon expiration, all received emails within the namespace are deleted, and the subdomain is released for use by other users.
Free users can add a new random namespace at any time before or after their current namespace expires. If the limit on the number of namespaces is reached, you may delete an existing namespace to create a new one, effectively resetting the expiration timer for this new namespace.
Why do namespaces expire?
We provide free users with one random subdomain. To prevent the hoarding of short subdomains by inactive users, we have implemented an expiration policy. This ensures that subdomains can be recycled and made available for active users.
How can I keep a namespace from expiring?
Upgrading to any paid plan will eliminate the expiration time for both your current and any future namespaces. For more information on the differences between the paid and free plans, visit the pricing page.
Email Retention
Each email has a retention period, after which it will be automatically deleted. This information is available in the expires_timestamp. For more details on parameters, refer to the API reference.
- For all Free users, the retention period is 1 day.
- For the paid plans retention period varies
If you feel you require a higher email retention period, then contact us regarding your use case and we can look into increasing this for you.

SMTP
In development environments, testing features that require sending emails, such as password resets or email confirmations, is a common task.
If you're relying on a third-party email delivery service for numerous integration tests, there's a risk that your email reputation may suffer. This issue can be avoided by opting for a virtual SMTP server, which allows for integration testing without using your outbound email quota or affecting your reputation
Mailisk supports this via its SMTP which can be used to send emails to any valid Mailisk address within your namespace. There are no outbound limits to using SMTP, received emails will go normally towards your monthly limit.
To find your SMTP credentials for a specific namespace, go to your namespace settings and open the additional settings:

For examples on how to use SMTP see the NodeJS section.
